BoBoBo-Bo BoBo-Bo

ollywood screenwriters be damned, today I will review things you can read (or not read) while you are cursing the overpaid prima donna screenwriters for ruining TV for 2008 and possibly 2009. Well, here’s a book that should be made into a movie or something. In fact, while we’re at it, all TV and movies should come from manga or comics… that way not one of those stinking evil striking writers gets a penny! Not one penny for you, losers!! STARVE IN THE STREETS, SCREENWRITERS!! STARVE!!
Now where was I… oh, right, BoBoBo-Bo BoBo-Bo.
OK. No, don’t make this into a movie. Please. We have enough horror to live through with DragonBall Z the Movie coming in August of 2008.
Continuing the “story” (if you can call whatever is going on in this series a “story”) we first got a taste of review wise in the Anime, we catch up with BoBoBo and company (Beauty, Jelly Jiggler, funny looking Mr. Talking Sun (aka Poppa Rocks), and so forth as they hunt down the last of the “Fantastic Four” of the Bald Empire’s big hitters. In this case it’s the DBZ reject (another DBZ reference!) Halekulani (he with the strangely Hawaiian sounding name) who happens to be hiding out in the amusement park Hallelujah Land. The trip there (on train) involves a fight, the arrival involves the maiming of innocent aliens (and more fighting), and the rest follows from there.
The humor is, to say the least, crude (blood flies, many things are harmed, and humor of a not so refined lineage is used… I.e. if it’s suitable only for an OT16+ age limit then it’s gotta be something nasty -- though you’ll find yourself strangely accepting of this kind of nasty, unlike previous nasty I’ve reviewed before).
The best things about this one shot?
It’s got abit of length, yet it’s a one shot.
It’s got solid humor (including a guest appearance by Yugi Motou for instance) and it’s actually fun to read.
And, best of all, it’s only $8 cover price. Talk about getting a lot for a reduced price!
So good price, good (yet at times rude and crude) humor, and it’s readable.
You really can’t get that much better for a one shot, now can you.
That is why BoBoBo-Bo BoBo-Bo gets 5 5 5 - 5 5 5 - 5 out of 5.
Really. 5 5 5 - 5 5 5 - 5 out of 5... Which doesn’t equate to 35 out of 5, if you’re wondering. Don’t add the fives up.
